Mizuno MX-23 Irons
Goal Of Iron Set: The difficult challenge of uniting forgiveness with real feel and playability.
From Mizuno: A bold claim from Mizuno who reportedly challenged themselves to make a more powerful and consistent iron and said upon release that with the MX-23 they had developed an iron set that can "offer...game improvement technology while maintaining the solid, soft feel".
We Say: The most recent addition to Mizuno's
quality line of forged irons is the MX-23 iron. According to a recent press
release, Mizuno officials claim that they have developed an iron that can "offer...game
improvement technology while maintaining the solid, soft feel" that is
a staple of a Mizuno Grain Flow Forged iron. This club does seem to offer an
ability to hit more easily, as well as a greater feel.
The MX-23 has been developed with a pocket cavity that is wider and longer,
and thus it allows for a more powerful launch and more control over your playing.
As is a trademark of all appealing clubs, the MX-23 offers an extremely large
sweet spot that enables you to hit the ball further and with more forgiveness.
Its 3-7 irons are created in a way that you will discover your launches to be
deeper. This is due in part to a lower center of gravity on the club. As for
the 8-P clubs, you will find that the MX-23 irons let you hit with much more
control and flexibility. In other words, they will allow for more accuracy where
you really need it- on the green.
In Conclusion: A unique and beautifully formed set of forged irons that come as close as any set on the market in combining forgiveness and playability. Two thumbs up.
