TaylorMade r7 XD Irons
Goal Of Iron Set: Gain extra distance without extra effort.
From TaylorMade: TaylorMade made some bold statements about their r7 D irons upon release which focused around ball launch: "Launch conditions dialed to deliver optimum height, carry and distance...Incredibly easy to launch thanks to the exceptionally low and deep-back CG"
We Say: Taylor Made has done it again with
their R7 XD iron set, which were released on November 30th, 2005. Featuring
its deep back CG (center-of-gravity), its 100% milled thin titanium clubface,
Tuned Performance Cartridge and inverted cone technology; these clubs are continuing
Taylor Made’s already legendary status.
The Taylor Made R7 XD are very easy clubs to hit with. The Tuned performance
cartridge increases MOI (moment of inertia) forgiveness. Launch conditions dialed
to deliver optimal height, carry and distance. These clubs make it incredibly
easy to launch, thanks to the exceptionally low and deep back CG. The 100% milled
thin titanium clubface enhances the center-of-gravity position and delivers
ultra high COR for faster ball speed. Taylor Made's research and development
department is the key to the R7 XD's outstanding performance. The R7 XD utilizes
Taylor Made's exclusive Inverted Cone technology, known as ICT, which was pioneered
in the R500 Series drivers and is still employed in Taylor Made R7 and R5 driver
models. An ICT incorporates an inverted cone milled directly into the rear side
of the club face. The precise geometry of the inverted cone changes the way
the club face behaves at impact and effectively increases the size of the R7
XD's COR zone, which is the portion of the club face that delivers more than
.760 COR.
In Conclusion: Possibly the best game improvement set on the market for consistent launch both in height and distance throughout the iron range.
